# What happens when I delete a Plex account or media server from Streams Manager?

Deleting a Plex account or media server from Streams Manager only removes its record and metadata from the Streams Manager database.

**Important**: Your actual media servers, Plex accounts, libraries, and media content are completely unaffected. Streams Manager does not delete or alter any external server data or active Plex configurations during this process.

#### What is removed?

* Metadata: The Plex account and/or server entry, connection details, and configuration settings inside Streams Manager.<br>
* Linkage: The link mapping stored in Streams Manager's database that allows Streams Manager to track user access, active subscriptions, and stream limits for that specific server.

#### What remains unchanged?

* Physical & virtual servers: Your media server installations, underlying host machines, and media server instances continue running without interruption.<br>
* Media server settings & libraries: All libraries, media files, metadata, and server configurations on your media server remain untouched.<br>
* Media server users & access: Active users retain their access on the media server directly, though Streams Manager will no longer manage, track, or automate their access for that server.

#### Next steps after deletion

If you plan to re-add the server later, you can reconnect it under the Servers page. However, you will need to reconfigure any plan assignments or library groups associated with it.
